Midnight Fuel Scam Alert: Drivers Report Overcharged Pumps at Esso Stations Across London
London, October 2025 — Several drivers have reported suspicious fuel pricing and pump behavior during late-night hours at certain Esso petrol stations across North London. In some incidents, customers have been charged £67.92 for only 14.45 litres of fuel — an unusually high price equivalent to £4.70 per litre, nearly four times the national average.
This appears to be happening primarily after midnight, when staff supervision is minimal. Drivers have described irregularities where the pump meter jumps disproportionately to the actual litres dispensed.

Take a clear photo of the pump reading and price before and after fueling.
